Angwin Estate VineyardsDescription: My wife and I started making wine from grapes grown on property that has been in my family since 1977. Our goal is to make exceptional cabernet sauvignon from hand-tended Howell Mountain fruit. Our style is classical with an emphasis on layers of different flavor that are reflective of our site. In a blind tasting of Master Sommelier candidates, our wines were mistaken for Classified Growth Bordeaux by 5 of the six tasters present. This is a verification of our commitment to meticulous farming with no detail left to chance. Our winemaking relies on our farming; We use no filtration, fining, flavor-maker, color-maker, enzymes, extracts, sacrificial tannins, nor any other winemaking slights of hand. Our signature flavor profile emphasizes complexity with elements of fruit, forest, minerality/graphite, tannin, French and Hungarian Oak, floral aromas, petrichor, dancing in perfect harmony, no element overpowering or out of place.
Our wines should age beautifully for 10-20 years. We plan on releasing our 2011 library wines in 2020 (fall) as the beginning of our library release program.Contact Information: |
